Creamy and sequined Moroccan wedding blankets or handira are woven out of sheep’s wool and cotton by Berber women in Northern Morocco. Traditionally, these blankets are woven by young women in anticipation for marriage. The patterns on the back symbolize her dreams for her future and the sequins represent a symbol of happiness in the berber culture. It is then worn from her parents house to her new home. Our blankets are vintage blankets and are authentic, adding the perfect sparkle to your sofa, bed or even your floor as a rug.
